Growing your own food doesn’t have to be hard. With the right combination of sun, fertiliser and water, you can have fresh tomatoes and veggies straight to your table. Richgro Tomato & Vegetable Planting Mix Grow Bag makes it easier. It is perfect for gardens without soil, for those that are tight on space, and it’s also an excellent way to get kids into gardening.
- Shake the mix evenly throughout the bag to loosen it up. This allows roots to grow evenly and fill out the whole bag.
- Turn the bag over and poke the holes in for drainage to allow excess water to drain out and prevent the mix and roots to get saturated.
- Cut the holes with a knife, and it really is as simple as that. Plants such as Tomatoes can get quite big so only two holes are required. For smaller plants like herbs, cut all three holes. For kids gardening, choose plants that grow in 20-30 days such as radishes and lettuce to keep them interested in the process.
Planting and location
Before planting in the Richgro Tomato & Vegetable Planting Mix Grow Bag, scoop out some mix and it can go in your garden bed, compost or simply in a pot. Plant your seedlings, firm the soil around and give it a good soak.
For plants such as tomatoes, Asian greens, and some climbing beans, put the Grow Bag in a full-sized sun position. For plants such as lettuce and herbs, position in a semi-shaded spot. Planting your grow bag really couldn’t be easier!
Feeding your plants
With your grow bags planted up, it’s now time to move them into their final location. And you will need to water them every single day day as they can dry out quickly, and your fast growing plants will need the water to grow. As these plants are such fast growers, it’s a good idea to liquid feed with Richgro Black Marvel Tomato & Vegetable Liquid Food every 10 to 14 days up until harvest.
It is high in potash and produces plentiful vegetables plus added iron and trace elements for rich green leaves and overall plant health. Grab a Grow Bag and grow you good things!
