It is important for the plant's health that you pay close attention to its feeding requirements. Controlled release fertilisers are designed specifically to work with potting mixes: a small amount of fertiliser is released each day by temperature and moisture, keeping the plant growing well.

Check your potting mix packaging as some potting soil such as the Richgro range of premium potting mixes already contain a controlled-release fertiliser to supply the plant with essential nutrients for a few months after potting.

Richgro Grocote PLUS is a coated granular fertiliser programmed to release nutrients continuously at a rate adjusted to plant requirements. The release rate of Grocote Plus is governed by the soil temperature, so there are more nutrients when your plant needs it during the warmer, active growing months and less nutrients in the cooler months when your plants are less active. It also includes added trace elements for efficient feeding and added EZI WET water saving soil wetter for efficient watering.
